How to Assemble Color Chips
Tools: Scissors, Iron and Pressing Mat (optional)
Before you get started:
Don't unbundle anything until you start working on that specific column.
We suggest taking pictures of your color card in case you get any swatches out of order.
Let’s get going…
Working one column at a time, carefully peel up fabric swatches from the color card. Set the swatches down in the same order they were on the color card. * Optional: Give each fabric swatch in your column a quick press with your iron.
For each color, use a rotary cutter to trim off half of one long side on a zig-zag edge. Set back in the correct order.
Locate and open the bundle of color chips that correspond with the column you are working with.
Next to each swatch, lay out the matching chip.
One by one, peel off the adhesive front on a color chip and press the corresponding swatch onto the face, lining up the cut edge with the bottom of the adhesive rectangle.
Rub the swatch very firmly to affix.
Using scissors, carefully trim the remainder of the fabric away from the card, taking care to not nick the card itself.
Repeat steps 6 and 7 for each swatch in the column, then for the remainder of the swatches in each column.
Optional:
If desired, cut 3/4 inch squares from your magnetic sheets. For each chip, take one magnet square, peel off the backing, and press firmly to the back of the color chip.
Bonus:
If you carefully followed the instructions above, you should have enough fabric remnants to reattach to your color card. To do so, trim each remnant to a uniform size (about 1x1.5") and press onto the corresponding box on the color card. If the adhesive is no longer sticky, you can use double-sided tape.
